Bean's Need to Knows

At The Baking Bean Cottage kitchen,  we believe that every moment deserves to be celebrated with a delicious treat. That's why we're dedicated to making the best baked goods around. Everything that leaves my kitchen has been made with pride & love, and to the best of my ability, has been customized for your special day!

We ask at least 2 weeks in advance when placing an order, exceptions are made when available. When ordering a cake from us, you will be penciled in whilst the cake design and details are arranged.  The 'date' will remain yours for 7 days until a non refundable deposit is received, your date will then be confirmed and the order placed.  If no deposit is received within 7 days your order will be cancelled and the date will be reopened for other customers. Deposits are non refundable unless cancelled by The Baking Bean. Once the design has been agreed changes may be made up to 7 days prior to collection/delivery but an extra charge may be added. All cakes are labelled with allergen information and a full list can be given upon request. Desserts are made in a kitchen where nuts, gluten, eggs, and dairy are handled. Please be sure to inform me of any allergies BEFORE confirming your order.

Payment

When the date of your order has be confirmed a 40% non refundable deposit must be paid via cash (50% for wedding cakes), Cashapp, or Venmo. The outstanding amount must be paid at the time of collection/delivery.

Delivery

Cakes & Sweets are as robust as we can make them, however they will not withstand any violent jolting, bumping or sliding. Please take into consideration the roads you are travelling on, as well as your speed, especially during turns.

If collecting , transportation should be on a flat surface, the footwell or the boot of the car is ideal and in the box provided.  Please ask for advice when taking collection of your cake if you are unsure.  The Baking Bean cannot be held responsible for any damage incurred due to poor transportation.

Storage
The cake MUST be stored in the fridge unless otherwise stated. All desserts should be stored only in the box provided and  in a cool dry place away from damp, sunny areas. I advise that cupcakes should be eaten within 48 hours. Please follow all care instructions given on Cake Care Card.
Extreme hot weather will reduce the life span of a cake & desserts.

Cancellations

Should your date change more than 7 days before the agreed collection/delivery date, the booking may be transferred without extra charge if the new date is available, however this is discretionary and all decisions are final.  If you wish to cancel your order, written conformation is required and the deposit will not be refunded. If cancelling less that 5 days before another 40% charge will be payable unless the slot can be filled by another booking.

If The Baking Bean has to cancel the booking due to illness a full refund will be given.

Complaints

The terms and conditions are for the protection of both customer and business, we cannot be held responsible for any damage or losses unless as a direct result of our negligence.

(If any aspect of cake transportation/storage in unclear please do not hesitate to ask).

In the unlikely event that you are not happy, please contact us in the first instance to acknowledge and rectify any queries or complaints within 7 days after collection/delivery. We aim to contact you with 48 hours.

To support your complaint photographic evidence will be advantageous.

Our Cakes & Desserts are a form of art and each and everyone is hand crafted to your specifications and to the best of our abilities. 

Certain aspects are negotiable so please do not hesitate to ask us any questions you may have. 

When booking your wedding with us we ideally require at least 6 weeks notice of your wedding date.

An initial meeting is advisable but  not always necessary. I offer consults in person or through zoom where you are able to try some samples(in person meet or by delivery) and discuss the design and flavours of your cake/s and discuss the delivery and set up of your cake. 

Samples must be paid for, should you book with The Baking Bean, the price you paid for samples will be discounted from your Wedding order.

A 50% non refundable deposit will be required to confirm your date. Should you wish to change your cake design you may do so at no extra charge providing it is at least 6 weeks before your collection/delivery date, less than this may incur an additional charge.

Delivery is charged at $1 per mile including the return journey($25 minimum). There will be a set up fee (starting at $25) we prefer to set up your wedding cake for you, however if you decide to collect your wedding cake yourself you must sign a disclaimer releasing The Baking Bean of any damaged caused by transportation or third party,  50% of paid delivery charges will be refunded giving less than 7 days notice of a delivery change.

Privacy

We care about your private information and at The Baking Bean we take your privacy seriously.

Our privacy policy covers identifiable personal information that we gather when we take an order from you.

The information we collect may include name, address, telephone number, email address and a delivery address and event date which may be a birthday.

We do not share or sell your information to any 3rd party and only those involved in the processing of your order will need access to the information.
